Augmentative Communication Systems Designed to Meet the Demands of Home and the Community

In the previous blog, I discussed how important it is to use augmentative communication in the home and in the community. However, it may be tough to find augmentative communication that meets the demands of the home and the community. The key to designing the correct communication devices that meet the needs of the home is family involvement. The student’s family can provide insight to selecting the correct device for the student's goals. Family will identify the vocabulary that is relevant in their house and in their community.
